Chantelle recently enrolled on the Level 2 ‘Children and Young People’s Mental Health’ course at an enrolment session we held. She has made a fantastic start to her learning journey - here’s her story:
Hi my name is Chantelle! I'm 29 years old and I am currently a full time mum of 4 beautiful daughters, I‘ve been a sufferer of mental health problems since 15 years of age and was diagnosed with anxiety, depression, psd and eupd which is emotional unstable personality disorder. This has affected me badly over the years, mainly in work and educational areas.
I've not been able to work or even concentrate on doing any college courses. You could say mental health as slowly taken over my life and is a big part off me. Recently my daughter who is 10 has been having signs off stress and anxiety along side other signs and I've always wanted to be able to understand her feelings and problems more. So when I saw that Stuart Gomes was doing an enrolment in the local area I was enlightened, and really thought this would be a great opportunity for me to understand my child more. I realised my local friends was also doing the same role so together we had each others support. When we arrived at the enrolment we was really welcomed and everything was in a calm safe environment. Over the enrollment everything is explained properly about the course and there was reassurance to say we have 100 percent support guiding us through the assessments. And can honestly say Stuart as a tutor has given us the support that was guaranteed. It's a free course we have nothing to lose and can gain knowledge that we have been longing for. I myself have fully enjoyed taking time for myself and doing the work books, it has really made me feel so positive and get the answers that I've been needing. I'm so excited to hopefully achieve my first certificate in many years. Obviously suffering myself I dont have any qualifications having my 1st child at a young age so on. I would 100 percent recommend taking one of these courses, it has definitely had a positive out come on well-being as well as mental health. Even if you are not a sufferer having this qualification is such an important thing and will do wonders for our futures. I myself is so grateful thanks again xx Chantelle
